Atlanta, Georgia--(October 23, 2008) The proverbial fear of a Black Planet goes beyond a Public Enemy song or a Barak Obama remix of "Change gone come". With the economy at a record low and ignorance at an all-time high, the people are in search of some form of relief. In an effort to provide a solution, the powerful, insightful forum, Meeting of the Minds, will be taking place November 1st, 8pm at the Apache Café, in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia. Three days before America decides who will be its next Chief Executive, the city of Atlanta will set its sights on one of the most inspirational and enlightening programs of the year, Meeting of the Minds. Sponsored by Black to Eden, the highly anticipated, bi-monthly gathering highlights urban issues and concerns, while providing practical solutions. The event, which is scheduled to kick-off the 34th Anniversary of Hip Hop, will commence with a high caliber panel dealing with the topic of "Black Love and Slave Food". The panel will include some of today's most vibrant Hip Hop activists and cultural icons including; Stic Man of the politically charged rap group, dead prez, Kalonji Changa of The FTP Movement, Minister Server of the Temple of Hip Hop, and renowned author/health advocate Afya Ibomu, to name a few. Hosted by Black to Eden founder, Phala Nazarine, the dialogue will be immediately followed by a fashion show and guest performances by, RBG/Peoples Army artist Mike Flo, Stahhr The Femcee, Ishues and others. The program will also spark a month long can good drive, with donations going to Hosea Williams Feed The Hungry. The Meeting of the Minds is where theory meets practice. Save the date!
