This is a very dope Track right here from ATL finest. #thumbsup

words by kaos

As 2010 wraps up I think about all the things that happened or didn’t happen this year good and bad. I also think about who I spent the most time with. Musically speaking me and fellow MC 4-IZE spent a lot of time in the studio working on separate projects (Señor Kaos – The Kaos Effect / 4-Ize – Awesomania) as well as working on a joint project that should be ready for release in the new year. We also spent a lot of time in the car traveling around the south east working, performing, networking, and trying to make money. In the middle of doing all those things, we got a chance to meet a fresh producer via 9th Wonder from North Carolina named E-Jones. I would tell you he’s one of those people you should be looking out for in 2011, but I’ll just let you listen to the music and form your own opinion…

My new project “The Most Interesting MC In The World” will be released this Saturday New Years Day 1.1.11 via DotGotIt.com. Make sure you check for it.

Occasional Superstar Returns: The WWAF Presents The Art Of War Of Art

smh. lawd he gonna poke his eye out

Jan 15, 2011

Stuart McClean Gallery
684 John Wesley Dobbs Ave, Suite A,
Atlanta, GA, 30312

Fabian Williams Occasional Superstar and Fahamu Pecou put their blood feud aside to take on a foe that threatens to annihilate creativity in both WWAF artist and mere mortals. A dark privately private hedge fund known as Foggy Water Investment Group (The Man) has been seeding their influence in the halls of congress as well as The WWAF. By taking art out of schools, they hope to cultivate a worker bee society who only do as they're told and obey authority, even against their own interest. Now they've managed to infiltrate the WWAF by pushing for budget reductions in the art battles. Now dispatching agents of distraction during the battles to disrupt the battles. They even have artist advocating for that are against the arts. These artist advocate for some of FWCIG view points, for example, "You don't need to go to school for art. You can paint in your spare time, like after you get out of the ER as a doctor or the Courts as a lawyer". The FWCIG's major goal is to remove all art from schools, thus making the public at large ripe for mind molding. They want to rule the world and only a ragtag band of artist can stop them. Together they will use the art of war of art to defeat the powerful menace, FWCIG!

Teena Marie, known as 'Ivory Queen of Soul,' dies

Teena Marie's last album, "Congo Square," was titled after a historical meeting place for slaves in New Orleans, featured a tribute to Martin Luther King's widow and also song "Black Cool," written for President Barack Obama.
No matter that Marie, 54, was white. The R&B legend revered and fully immersed herself in black culture — and in turn was respected and adored by black audiences, not only for her immense soulful talents, but for her inner soul as well.

"Overall my race hasn't been a problem. I'm a Black artist with White skin. At the end of the day you have to sing what's in your own soul," she told Essence.com in an interview last year while promoting "Congo Square." That album would turn out to be her last.

The self-proclaimed "Ivory Queen of Soul," whose many classic hits included "Lovergirl," Square Biz" and the scorching duet "Fire and Desire" with mentor Rick James, was found dead in her Pasadena home on Sunday at the age of 54. Authorities said her death appeared to be of natural causes.

In an interview with The Associated Press last year, Teena Marie said she had successfully battled an addiction to prescription drugs; she had been performing over the last year.

"The enduring influence of Teena's inspirational, trailblazing career, could only have been made possible through her brilliant song-writing, showmanship and high energy passion which laid the ground work for the future generations of R&B, hip-hop, and soul," said Concord Music Group chief label officer, Gene Rumsey; Concord's Stax Records released her last album.

"We feel extremely fortunate to have worked with a visionary who changed music in indelible ways. Our deepest sympathies go out to her family, friends and of course, millions of fans around the world."

Marie certainly wasn't the first white act to sing soul music, but she was arguably among the most gifted and respected, and was thoroughly embraced by black audiences, and beyond.

Even before she started her musical career, she had a strong bond with the black community, which she credited to her godmother. She gravitated to soul music and in her youth decided to make it her career.

Marie made her debut on the legendary Motown label back in 1979, becoming one of the very few white acts to break the race barrier of the groundbreaking black-owned record label that had been a haven for black artists like Stevie Wonder, the Jackson Five, the Supremes and Marvin Gaye.

The cover of her debut album, "Wild and Peaceful," did not feature her image, with Motown apparently fearing black audiences might not buy it if they found out the songstress with the dynamic, gospel-inflected voice was white.

"(Motown founder Berry) Gordy) said that is was so soulful that he wanted to give the music an opportunity to stand on its own merit. Instead of my face, they put a seascape, so by the time my second album came out people were like, Lady T is White?" she told Essence.com.

Marie was the protege of the masterful funk wizard James, with whom she would have long, turbulent but musically magical relationship.

Marie notched her first hit, "I'm A Sucker for Your Love," with the help of James on that album. But the time her second album was released, her face was known — and on the cover of the record. But there was not a backlash — she would only get more popular on her way to becoming one of R&B's most revered queens. During her tenure with Motown, the singer-songwriter and musician produced passionate love songs and funk jam songs like "Need Your Lovin'," "Behind the Groove."

Marie's voice was the main draw of her music: Pitch-perfect, piercing in its clarity and wrought with emotion, whether it was drawing from the highs of romance or the mournful moments of a love lost. But her songs, most of which she had a hand in writing, were the other major component of her success.

Tunes like "Cassanova Brown" "Portuguese Love" and "Deja Vu (I've Been Here Before)" featured more than typical platitudes on love and life, but complex thoughts with rich lyricism. "Deja vu" was a song about reincarnation.

And "Fire and Desire," a duet with James about a former couple musing about their past love, was considered a musical masterpiece and a staple of the romance block on radio stations across the country.

Marie left Motown in 1982 and her split became historic: She sued the label and the legal battle led to a law preventing record labels from holding an artist without releasing any of their music.

She went to Epic in the 1980s and had hits like "Lovergirl" and "Ooo La La La" but her lasting musical legacy would be her Motown years.

Still, she continued to record music and perform. In 2004 and 2006 she put out two well-received albums on the traditional rap label Cash Money Records, "La Dona" and "Sapphire."

James, who had a romantic relationship with Marie but also a long friendship, died in 2004. His death shook her so she said she became addicted to Vicodin, which she had been taking for pain, for about a year.

But Marie said she successfully battled that addiction. In 2008, she talked about her excitement of being honored by the R&B Foundation.

Marie was the mother of a teenage daughter who was budding singer; she would sometimes bring her daughter onstage to sing during her shows.

In 2009, she celebrated 30 years in the recording industry, and planned for many more.

"All in all, it's been a wonderful, wonderful ride," she told The Associated Press in 2008. "I don't plan on stopping anytime soon."

In 2010 yall gone call me Jasiri Xtra
That rapper eating other rappers rap version of Dexter

Mcs don't understand they just stand under
and we aint controversial but scared niggas ran from us
like we was court appointed handing out a damn summons
X-Clan coming call me Brother J jr.
cause all you hear bout them is just another gay rumor
summers in suede pumas winters I'm Tim bootin
the industry ain't dumb it down them rappers been stupid
and I ain't here to name lames or try and play the blame game
you know it's time to change lanes when millionaires gang bang
feeling like Charlemagne rappers are satanic
we on the battlefield in ranks standing with raised cannons
ready to blaze at em I'm raps William Wallace
spirit of Bob Marley how long they gonna kill our prophets
New millennium Noah God told me to build a rocket
and get the greatest rapper alive to fill the cockpit
sitting all alone in the cone of that steel object
so when the earth is flooded ya brother is still rockin
Jay Smooth ill doctrine articulate like Dr Marc Lamont hill talkin
labeled hypocrite cause I'm a grave digger that fills coffins
call it contra-diction
a monster spittin proper rhythms with conscious vision
imagine Mike Tyson the boxier hittin ya face you droppin spinning
then black boots start to stomp ya ribs in
the consequences of thinkin that your my competition
Professor X yall still paying college tuition
Listen its just me and the Arkitech
joust with the hardest track lance and my armor black
fresh water flow Phillip Rivers like that Changers cat
you be the king I'm the God of rap honor that
rappers are softer than them dudes that dance behind Madonna's back
MCs trying to be weirder than Lady Gaga's hats
Bambaataa lookin like I know I ain't father that

LYRICS
I remember Joshalyn Lawton police put a gun to her head

6 months later this is my city where the mayor
fought a cop then got off a half hour later
and I say a prayer for Fredrick Germaine Carter

keep puffin ya hashish and sippin on champagne
a guarantee that niggas won't do a damn thang
demand change my pen comes from a hand grenade
And this ain't a diss to whiz and currency
cause I was burning tress everyday to age 23
and look what the Lord made me
All praise be to the God that raised me
You don't crush the seeds you water them

10 Health Problems Related to Stress That You Can Fix

By R. Morgan Griffin

Need another thing to get stressed out about? Your stress itself could be making you sick.

"Stress doesn't only make us feel awful emotionally," says Jay Winner MD, author of Take the Stress Out of Your Life and director of the Stress Management Program for Sansum Clinic in Santa Barbara, Calif. "It can also exacerbate just about any health condition you can think of."

Studies have found many health problems related to stress. Stress seems to worsen or increase the risk of conditions like obesity, heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, depression, gastrointestinal problems, and asthma.

Before you get too stressed out about being stressed out, there is some good news. Following some simple stress relief tips could both lower your stress and lower your health risks.

10 Health Problems Related to Stress

What are some of the most significant health problems related to stress? Here's a sampling.

Heart disease. Researchers have long suspected that the stressed-out, type A personality has a higher risk of high blood pressure and heart problems. We don't know why, exactly. Stress might have a direct effect on the heart and blood vessels. It's also possible that stress is related to other problems -- an increased likelihood of smoking or obesity -- that indirectly increase the heart risks.

Doctors do know that sudden emotional stress can be a trigger for serious cardiac problems, including heart attacks. People who have chronic heart problems need to avoid acute stress as much as they can.

Asthma. Many studies have shown that stress can worsen asthma. Some evidence suggests that a parent's chronic stress might even increase the risk of developing asthma in their children. One study looked at how parental stress affected the asthma rates of young children who were also exposed to air pollution or whose mothers smoked during pregnancy. The kids with stressed out parents had a substantially higher risk of developing asthma.

Obesity. Excess fat in the belly seems to pose greater health risks than fat on the legs or hips -- and unfortunately, that's just where people with high stress seem to store it. "Stress causes higher levels of the hormone cortisol," says Winner, "and that seems to increase the amount of fat that's deposited in the abdomen."

Diabetes. Stress can worsen diabetes in two ways. First, it increases the likelihood of bad behaviors, such as unhealthy eating and excessive drinking. Second, stress seems to raise the glucose levels of people with type 2 diabetes directly.

Headaches. Stress is considered one of the most common triggers for headaches -- not just tension headaches, but migraines as well.

Depression and anxiety. It's probably no surprise that chronic stress is connected with higher rates of depression and anxiety. One survey of recent studies found that people who had stress related to their jobs -- like demanding work with few rewards -- had an 80% higher risk of developing depression within a few years than people with lower stress.

Gastrointestinal problems. Here's one thing that stress doesn't do -- it doesn't cause ulcers. However, it can make them worse. Stress is also a common factor in many other GI conditions, such as chronic heartburn (GERD) and IBS, Winner says.

Alzheimer's disease. One animal study found that stress might worsen Alzheimer's disease, causing its brain lesions to form more quickly. Some researchers speculate that reducing stress has the potential to slow down the progression of the disease.

Accelerated aging. There's actually evidence that stress can affect how you age. One study compared the DNA of mothers who were under high stress -- they were caring for a chronically ill child -- with women who were not. Researchers found that a particular region of the chromosomes showed the effects of accelerated aging. Stress seemed to accelerate aging about 9 to 17 additional years.

Premature death. A study looked at the health effects of stress by studying elderly caregivers looking after their spouses -- people who are naturally under a great deal of stress. It found that caregivers had a 63% higher rate of death than people their age who were not caregivers.
Still, you might be wondering why. Why would stress make us sick? Why would an emotional feeling wreck havoc on our bodies?

Stress isn't only a feeling. "Stress isn't just in your head," Winner says. It's a built-in physiologic response to a threat. When you're stressed, your body responds. Your blood vessels constrict. Your blood pressure and pulse rise. You breathe faster. Your bloodstream is flooded with hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline.

"When you're chronically stressed, those physiologic changes, over time, can lead to health problems," Winner tells WebMD.

Stress Management Works

While the number of health problems related to stress might be alarming, don't despair. Studies suggest that stress management techniques will not only make you feel better, but they might have concrete health benefits.

For instance, one study of heart attack survivors found that taking a stress management class slashed their risks of a second cardiac event by 74%. There's even some evidence that stress management will improve immunity.

Still, many of us remain skeptical about stress management. After all, our lives are just plain stressful. We have busy jobs, families to raise, tight finances, and no time to spare. Stress management might seem like a nice idea, but completely impossible.

It's true that you might not be able to remove all the stressful things from your life. But you can change how you respond to them, Winner says. That's what stress management is all about. Learning some basic stress relief techniques isn't hard either.

4 Ways to Fight Back Against Stress -- and Improve Your Health

The next time you feel stressed, here are four stress relief tips you can try.

Breathe deeply. Just a few minutes of deep breathing can calm you and tame the physiologic stress response, Winner says. While building in a specific time to relax each day is a good idea, one advantage to deep breathing for stress relief is that you can do it anywhere -- at your desk or in your (parked) car, for instance.

Winner recommends that as you breathe out, you relax a specific muscle group. Start with the muscles in your jaw. On the next breath out, relax your shoulders. Move through the different areas of your body until you're feeling calm.

Focus on the moment. When you're stressed, you're probably living in the future or the past. You're worried about what to do next or regretful about something you've already done. To get some stress relief, instead try focusing on what you're doing right now.

"You can calm yourself by bringing yourself back to the present moment," says Winner. "If you're walking, feel the sensation of your legs moving. If you're eating, focus on the taste and the sensation of the food."

Reframe the situation. So you're already running late and then find yourself stuck in terrible traffic. Getting worked up is a natural reaction, but it won't help you at all.

Rather than swearing and pounding the steering wheel, get a different perspective. Look at that time as an opportunity -- a few minutes to yourself where you don't have any other obligations.
Keep your problems in perspective. It might seem Pollyannaish, but the next time you're feeling stressed out, think about the things for which you're grateful.

"We get stressed when we focus so much on a specific problem that we lose perspective," says Winner. "You need to remind yourself of the basic ways in which you're lucky -- that you have family and friends, that you can see, that you can walk." It can be a surprisingly effective method for stress relief.

4 Ways to Fight Back Against Stress -- and Improve Your Health continued...

While these stress management techniques can help in the moment, you can also make a few larger changes to your way of life. Regular exercise is key to long-term stress management, says Winner. People who exercise tend to have better moods and more energy than people who don't. What's more, regular exercise will independently lower your risks for many health problems.

Learning some relaxation techniques, meditation, or yoga will help with stress management, too. Getting good at any of these approaches will take a little time and practice, but the payoff -- for your short-term mood and long-term health -- could be substantial.

Facebook cartoon profile pics mean well, but what do they mean?

You learn something new everyday

Words Jerry DeMarco

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg says the cartoon-character profile pics that this weekend became the newest online craze truly were part of an effort to raise awareness of child exploitation and weren't, as some conspiracy theorists suspected, an evil way for pedophiles to make young friends.

Yeah, it seems dopey. But people will do ANYTHING when the cause is right. In this case it was replacing profile pics with cartoon characters as a way of saying: That's right. I am totally against anybody hurting a kid.
Jerry DeMarco Publisher/Editor

What's really insidious is Facebook's ability to pull off such a stunt and make it instantly viral. Who ISN'T against child exploitation? Why does it seem such a cool idea to so many to step in line? Are people that much into the sheep mentality?

Here's the bigger question: What exactly is the point?

How did my changing my profile pic to Yogi Bear or George Jetson or Bluto this weekend fight child exploitation? What non-profit group benefitted from the meme?

And what's next? Are we going to post pics of Pam Grier and Fred "The Hammer" Williamson to protest black-sploitation? What about the exploitation of immigrant labor? Where does it end?

Or is that the point: There is no end. Simon says do this. Simon says do that. Facebook is Simon. We are sheep.

Some would buy the line that pedophiles are behind the mindless campaign -- the same way they believed that the guy who bought $20,000 worth of candy at the Costco in Hackensack the week before Halloween a few years ago intended to poison our kids. He actually was a flea market vendor doing his usual business: stocking up for the flood of folks who wanted to get their hands on cheap candy to give the trick-or-treaters.

Here's the latest joke: The only thing that's spreading faster than the Facebook post-a-cartoon profile pic are the warnings that pedophiles have orchestrated this grand scheme.

It apparently began as a joke -- in Greece, in fact, at least a month ago. Now it's merely the latest form of Internet idiocy, wrapped in a nostalgiac desire to show our cleverness and display OUR favorite cartoon heroes.... Narcissism masked as altruism.

What would Aristotle do? He'd dismiss it for what it is -- a waste of thought, time and trouble.

Jerky, actually.

Yet, in a single day, nearly 100,000 Facebook users changed their pics.

The result?

Um.... this story.... and .... well.... honestly.... uh.... beats the shit out of me....

We've seen this before, including the time women were asked to post the color of their bras to raise awareness of breast cancer. Then came the "I like it on..." campaign, another breast cancer offshoot, for women to wave the banner by saying where they preferred to stash their purses or pocketbooks.

Come on. Do you truly think Facebook gives a shit about any of these "causes"? Or is it another slick way of mining your data?

Not for anything, but if you have enough time on your hands to go find a pic, shop it, and post it, then you could be better spending that time being a foster mom or dad, brother or sister, or volunteering at a shelter, or tending to battered women, or being a big brother or sister to a kid who needs one.

I'd rather go down to the shelter and hand someone a bill than sit there and play Internet games that make me look so clever. Who the hell am I helping by sitting home in front of a monitor? No one but Facebook, whose purpose is to help advertisers profile YOU.

A cartoon doesn't explore unexplained injuries, or changes in a child's behavior -- including eating disorders, sleep troubles and plummeting grades at school, not to mention personal hygiene and major risk-taking. It doesn't explain how the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services found 772,000 children deemed victims of abuse or negelct -- with 7 of 10 suffering at the hands of their own parents.

A cartoon doesn't say that physical abuse is but one of a group of horrific behaviors toward innocent children. Some are sexually abused, neglected or emotionally mistreated.

P.T. Barnum could've never fathomed the breadth of gullibility when he said a sucker was born every minute. If he'd lived to see the latest Facebook gimmick, Barnum -- the original huckster himself -- would have never stopped throwing up.

I've got it: How about we all go an entire day without Facebook -- yes, make Facebook go dark -- to show our support for a less commercialized society? It could work, y'know, if only so many weren't so weak.

Pick a day. Any day. Let's do it in April: Child Abuse Awareness Month. Give me 1,000 emailed confirmations and we're in business.

Like you've got the balls.
