We first met this instrumentalist at one of our first “Super Heavy Funk” events. I remember sitting there and all of a sudden I heard this flute soaring over the music like a bird. Ever since she has blessed almost every event and made quite a name for herself in the Atlanta music community as a master musician.
I had the honor to work with Ms. Ali and to produce this song for UNITE 4 JAPAN mix. She had these words to say about this tune:
“We’re connected with a responsibility to each other’s well-being. Challenges occur from day to day, but we continue to rise by keeping our spirit light.”

The Latin Invasion Art Show explores the mythological prophecies of the end of the world. According to Mayan calculations, 2012 is the fall of the Fifth Sun. 2012 is the end of the world as we know it. Artists are tasked with visualizing what that means to our culture, our way of thinking, the current state of humanity and ultimately, how we plan to celebrate the great history that humanity has enjoyed until this day.
There will be body painted models for artist to draw and photographer to take pictures of. Dozens of paintings from artists all over the US and two great DJ’s spinning Latin Classics and Hip Hop inspired music. FTP will provide their nutritious delicious food and there will be a full bar of spirits open.

Currently the group is in production on their follow up album "March On Washington" which is expected late this year!
The 15 track album was produced by Oddisee with a few dope guest producers for good measure: Kev Brown, Dunc of DTMD, and Slimkat78.

Big K.R.I.T.'s Return of 4eva tour hit Chicago's Bottom Lounge on April 9th. The sold out show featured performances by Chicago's YP, Big Homie D.O.E., and BBU as well the tour's Jackie Chain, Smoke Dza, Mookie Jones, and of course Freddie Gibbs. The night featured a historic surprise appearance from Young Jeezy, who officially welcomed Freddie into the CTE camp. Watch how everything went down in this video by Tony Shane.
